DRIPA was intended to support reconciliation, but its vagueness has had the opposite unintended effect of creating uncertainty, eroding trust, and making reconciliation harder to achieve. The legislations lack of clarity has caused long delays, with major questions about land and governance being resolved slowly in the courts rather than clearly through legislation. That uncertainty breeds frustration and mistrust on

    The core argument

    • Reconciliation depends on trust

    • Trust depends on clarity

DRIPA lacks clarity, so it’s undermining reconciliation instead of advancing it

Given the unintended consequences of DRIPA, I support its repeal to mitigate ambiguity, improve trust, protect property rights, speed municipal decisions, and increase the chances of moving toward meaningful reconciliation.

I believe property owner rights should be secure. There needs to be more clarity.
