fought to preserve. We are a democratic nation increasingly granting land rights to groups who, in practice, manage that land through systems that resemble socialist control rather than democratic accountability.

The interview with Tom Isaac was informative and well presented; however, in my view, he is hesitant to challenge the courts directly. He understands that the courts bear significant responsibility for the current situation. Decisions of this magnitude should be reviewed by a tribunal of judges, with the primary obligation being the protection of Canada and all Canadians. No group or individual has the right to “own” land in this country other than through Fee Simple ownership.

All non–Fee Simple land must remain under Crown ownership. Any other land must be held as Fee Simple, subject to clear and enforceable land-use provisions. This framework is essential to preserving Canada’s democratic foundations.

Tom Isaac and others with expertise in this field must take a firm stand in defense of the country Canadians fought for. No legal argument—regardless of how it is framed—should be permitted to undermine the original constitutional and democratic foundations upon which Canada was built.

All Canadians which including Canada’s Indigenous population must recognize and preserve the democratic wellness of this country.

I’ve listened to David Frum eviserate all this nonsense giving “the farm” to indigenous peoples. They were never farmers, they were “stone aged” foragers who made no claims to specific properties. Like everyone else for millenia, they warred with their neighbours, took slaves, and were probably sexist. They now have access to the same benefits that Euro culture has brought us all. Don’t get me wrong, I like their culture, but they were not noble savages. They were people who lived by their wits, and they are still capable of doing so. No more handouts, pay taxes like the rest of us. No more mister nice (white) guy.

How our government is guided by UNDRIP/DRIPA is not sustainable and is not working. I fear loosing my home equity!!! As long as the courts must judge based on the fact that DRIPA and UNDRIP are law we are doomed!!!!

    Forget winning the Cowichan appeal!!!
