Election 2024: Campaign Roundup - Day 28

Welcome to Day 28 of our British Columbia 2024 Campaign Roundup!

With the 2024 BC election now finally underway, we'll be bringing you daily updates on all the policy proclamations, platform promises, and political point-scoring from the campaign trail.

As always, our work is entirely funded by donations from British Columbians just like you, so if you appreciate the updates, please consider making a one-off donation or signing up as a supporter for just $10 a month - that's just 36 cents per email!

Campaign Roundup - Day 28:

  • This is our last Daily Campaign Roundup email, as tomorrow is Election Day! We hope you found these emails helpful and enjoyed hearing all the news from the campaign trail! If you appreciated the insight and would like to support our efforts on an ongoing basis, please consider signing up as a British Columbia Institute supporter for just $10 a month. Our work is entirely funded by voluntary donations, so we greatly appreciate the support.

  • Candidates pulled out all the stops on their last day of campaigning, releasing videos, taking to social media, and hitting the doors one more time.

  • The BC Green Party made one final policy announcement. Party leader Sonia Furstenau promised to provide mental health care for survivors of climate disasters, to reinvest carbon tax revenues into communities for climate action, and to support low-income households to install heat pumps and solar panels, among other things.

  • If you’re still an undecided voter, you can find the full platforms for the BC NDP here, the BC Conservatives here, and the BC Greens here. To see if you have an independent candidate running in your riding, you can find the full list of candidates here.

  • To make it easier to get to the polls, BC Transit and some local governments are providing free transit. Each community decides individually whether to offer the free service, and a full list of communities is available here.

  • Do you have a voting plan yet? Tomorrow, polling stations will be open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. You can find your nearest polling place here on the Elections BC website.
